Do you follow?

I was driving to work this morning, and there was one of those large signs on the road saying "Please Follow". And, I was thinking--what does that mean? Then, there was a truck in front of me, with a sign on that back that said "Construction Vehicle, Do Not Follow". I'm assuming if we are going in the same direction, you have to follow... and that sign is saying to follow--yet, how am I not supposed to follow?

But, this brought up a good thinking about whether or not we follow. Are you a follower? I have to say I try not to follow. It's so easy to follow, but I feel like the best things happen when you don't. Everything great came from people who broke some rules--not by those who followed them. Of course, I have to admit that I probably miss out on some great things by being anti-follow, like Harry Potter books for example. I just won't read them because everyone and their grandmother is reading them. :)

I think all of us are in this endless struggle to follow and not follow. Of course we should follow laws and most rules, but we also want to be unique. :)

Wow that was so deep really. I mean all the times you said the word follow made me not want to do it. Made me want to be different and unique. In my opinion following can also be a good thing. Sure there are some things in life you want to be different in, but to follow examples of great people, to follow the example of our parents, or friends. I think is a good thing. I guess it all depends on the type of person you are. If you choose to completely go out of your way to be unique, how do you know you are following other people who are doing the same thing. Following those whose opinions have mattered in your life I think is something this generation needs to put into practice. Interesting topic, but the idea isnt very clear.
